I hope you all had a very good Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
Thank you to the few of you who came to the Christmas rollup on Saturday afternoon, 15th December. We all had a great time and I loved the hats! I do hope this year you all look out for
this event and us novices make a greater presence. It’s an ideal opportunity to meet bowlers you don’t necessarily meet all year and it’s good fun as well. Well done to those who did
Two teams of novices also took part in the quiz night in December. Neither team won and my team got the booby prize. But hey, a prize for coming last? Can’t be bad! Would
love to see more of you at the next one.
I think it’s a shame we don’t have a Club Christmas party and have put this matter onto the agenda for the next Board Meeting. Would love to know your thoughts on this. Do you think this
is a good idea? If so, any suggestions?
I am thinking of having another competition afternoon in April, just before the two week annual closure. You all seemed to enjoy the one in September and I have been asked to repeat
it. Thinking ladies v men. I will be talking to you all soon to see how much support there is for this.
The forms come out next month for the summer leagues. I know quite a few of you are in teams at the moment for the winter league. Why not widen the participation by forming your own
teams for the summer? It really isn’t a big deal and once you have made the leap you will enjoy bowling competitively.
The Sunday morning Allcomers Open is more popular than I ever anticipated. We now have 42 bowlers on the score sheet – novices and long time bowlers – and I can see that the top spots are
being strongly contested. If you haven’t already joined us, you can still do so.
9.30 am every Sunday. No commitment to turn up. Come as little or as often as you like.
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Tuesday evenings during 2019. We number nearly 60 novices now. More than ever before. So well done all of you!
